flokk is a fully developed combination of an industry-standard driver/controller hardware and a software framework (patents pending) . With our team of engineers, programmers and designers we can offer you the support for a fast product development and marketability.


The heart of flokk is the hardware – a combined OLED / LEDs driver & controller. The driver can power up to nine channels, enabling the use of the same amount of white OLEDs / LEDs or three RGB-LEDs. It is designed to be able to drive the most common wattages and amperages. The flokk controller also houses a number of sensors: light sensor, IR light sensor, thermal array sensor, microphone, capacitive touch, proximity, and temperature sensor. It also hosts a memory, a slot for SD-cards, and a WiFi interface. All these components are controlled by two processors, the first taking care of the communication and the second controlling the light.

The entire hardware is designed to fit between two square OLED-panels and to operate autonomously.


The soul of flokk is the firmware. Several flokk controllers can be connected through WiFi. They work as a network of independent nodes, each aware of its position in relation to its neighbours.

The software can also display information on your luminaire. A patented algorithm controls a number of OLEDs facing in opposite directions, allowing them to display information (e.g. cloudy patterns) while at the same time keeping the illuminance in the room at a constant level. This functionality can theoretically be scaled without any limit.

And this is just the beginning!

Think of the numerous design applications that are made possible by the input from the different sensors. Through the networking feature, the computation of the sensor input and the pre-defined algorithms, possibilities range from interactive art installations to smart lighting applications in business environments.


The platform brings everything together. The software can be controlled through an app and a smartphone. On the flokk.platform, updates and special light functions can be retrieved. It is the place for the community to share thoughts, ideas and projects, and to find inspiration.
